Description

Difficulty Level - Very Easy Class A™ Acoustic Foam Panels are a premium grade sound absorption foam panel that are rated for high-temperature applications or buildings requiring Class A™ rated materials. Class A™ Acoustic Foam Panels are heat resistant to 482° F and able to withstand constant temperatures of up to 320° F, which makes them an ideal choice for environments where temperatures are high and where sparks (or other hot materials) may fly, and come in contact with the material. Due to its excellent flame resistant qualities, it’s perfect for areas where large numbers of people congregate. Class A™ Acoustic Foam Panels are constructed of lightweight, porous acoustic melamine and are fiber free, making them perfect for medical facilities or where high tech computer equipment is used. The material's internal structure is a spacious cellular complex of slim, flexible webs that are membrane-free and completely open-celled. The result is that Class A™ Acoustic Foam Panels are low-density and extremely lightweight. Available with or without Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA) for an easy peel-and-place application.

Special Order Film Facings

To accommodate a wide variety of applications, Acoustic Foam Panels are available with film facings. While the performance and physical characteristics change for each available facing, they all will; protect the acoustic panel from minor impact, provide a cleanable surface, reduce particulates and have a small negative affect on the sound absorption performance. All Facing options are a Special Order item and are applied to the charcoal colored foam. If you have any additional questions about our facing options, please contact our Acoustic Consultants…they will be happy to help.

About Polyurethane Facing:

Polyurethane film is a tough, abrasion-resistant film surface that resists punctures and tears. It also exhibits good resistance to light duty chemicals and moisture. Available in three colors: White, Bone, and Black

Pros:

  • Almost acoustically transparent, have little effect on NRC
  • Color variety allows matching to décor
  • White has high light reflectance
  • Black for use where low light reflectance is desirable, such as some ceiling applications between joists etc.
  • Relatively inexpensive way to provide a nice looking wall product

Cons:

  • Not heat resistance
  • Light duty chemical resistant.
  • Can puncture with heavy pressure
  • Special order only

About Tedlar® Facing:

Tedlar® PVF film is a tough, durable, preformed polyvinyl fluoride film. The unique weathering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and stain-resistant properties of Tedlar® make it an ideal protective surfacing material.

Pros:

  • Excellent resistance to oils, gas, certain chemicals
  • Strong

Cons:

  • Higher priced facing option
  • Extended delivery dates
  • Higher minimum order quantity
  • Special order only

About Reinforced Aluminum Facing:

The Reinforced Aluminum Facing gives polyurethane foam extra protection in high heat applications. The fiber reinforcing provides extra tear resistance, so if the facing is punctured, it will not continue to tear.

Pros:

  • Heat resistant
  • Heat reflective
  • Strong
  • Highly light reflective
  • Aluminum increases thermal resistance

Cons:

  • Higher priced facing option
  • Extended delivery dates
  • Higher minimum order quantity
  • Special order only

About Mylar Facing:

Mylar® is an extraordinarily strong polyester film with superior strength, heat resistance, and excellent insulating properties. This product has a bright silver finish that has excellent light reflective qualities.

Pros:

  • Heat reflective
  • Good to reduce internal reverberations in enclosure
  • Increased radiant thermal resistance
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Light reflective

Cons:

  • Easily punctured with sharp objects
  • Extended delivery dates
  • Special order only
