Description

Difficulty Level - Very Easy Quiet Board™ is a unique, water resistant acoustic panel that absorbs and deflects sound equally. It is perfect for areas that need a temporary noise reduction barrier due to its rigid composition of compressed, small cylinder shaped beads, similar to Styrofoam®. The cylinder shaped beads have hollowed cores that allow sound to travel into the panel, where it is absorbed. The core material of Quiet Board™ is glossy and smooth, which reflects sound back towards the source of the noise. Quiet Board™ is a washable, lightweight product that is impact, chemical, water, bacteria and fungi resistant. Quiet Board™ can be installed as a wall panel, ceiling tile or hanging baffle. This product is fiber free, so it is clean room and medical facility safe. Due to its water resistant properties and fiber free composition, this product may be used in marine, food service, and clean room environments. Quiet Board™ is a Class A™ product and can be used where flammability requirements are strict.

Features / Benefits

Dual Purpose Acoustic Material — Quiet Board™ is truly unique in that it absorbs as well as deflects noise. The irregular surface texture absorbs 50% of airborne sound and the smooth, dense polypropylene core material deflects 50% of the sound back towards the noise source. This product is perfect for areas that need both soundproofing and sound absorption. See acoustic data below.

Value — Quiet Board™ is a perfect choice for applications that need acoustic improvement and soundproofing but where budgets are tight. When compared to other, one dimensional products, it is a great dual functioning product for a great price.

Moisture Resistant — Unlike most sound absorption products, Quiet Board™ is moisture resistant. It is also washable so it can be applied to areas that may get dirty and require an occasional hose down.

Durable — Quiet Board™ is impact resistant with good resistance to chemicals, bacteria and fungi.

Easy to Install and Handle — Quiet Board™ is light weight and can be attached to a variety of surfaces. These panels contain no fiberglass and have little to no odor. Quiet Board™ is attached to substrates with construction grade adhesives. For cutting or trimming, use a serrated knife or a circular saw with a 45+ tooth blade. Be careful!

Excellent Flammability Rating — Quiet Board™ has a Class A™ flammability rating. This product passes most building code flammability requirements for exposed materials.

Installers Should Know

Quiet Board™ is a thermal molded product and although tough to see, one side of the panel will have injection and mold release marks. The marks are circular and range in size and indent depth. These marks denote the back side of the panel, so panels should be installed with these marks facing the wall or ceiling for best possible aesthetical outcome.
