Our Acoustical Glass Mineral Wool is made with 50% Recycled Post-Consumer materials. In other words, the same bottles you recycle every week!
The other 50% of the Acoustical Glass Mineral Wool is made from one of the most abundant renewable resources on the planet- sand.
The Binder used in the Acoustical Glass Mineral Wool reduces embodied energy by 70%, which means there is 70% less binder agent needed when compared to other glass wools and acoustic fiberglass products.
All of our Acoustic Fabrics are 100% Recycled Polyester.
All Acoustic Baffles come with Eye Hooks. The number of eye hooks depends on the size of the Baffles. We recommend using Medium Duty Chain or Aircraft Cable to suspend the Baffles. The Baffles can hang anywhere from 2 inches to 24 inches from the ceiling surface. Spacing between Baffles can also range from 2 inches to 8 feet. The spacing between the Baffles doesn’t matter as much as spreading the Baffles out equally throughout the space. The Baffles can be hung in a straight line or staggered to add architectural appeal.
What exactly is the 200 Series Udderly Quiet™ Acoustic Baffle?
The Udderly Quiet™ 200 series Acoustic Baffle consists of two Acoustical Glass Mineral Wool panels wrapped in an Acoustic Fabric and glued back to back. The Hardware, eye hooks, are adhered between the panels. The edges of the Baffle are dipped in a resin hardener to protect the edges and add strength.
What is an Acoustic Fabric and what are my options?
An Acoustic Fabric is a fabric that is considered acoustically transparent. All Acoustic Fabrics have whats called an “Open Weave” which allows sound to travel through the fabric material and into the sound absorbent core. There are 1000’s of Acoustic Fabric Options.
Do I have to use one of your fabrics or can I provide my own?
These are your baffles! We will wrap them in whatever fabric you choose. All we ask is that you send us a 36 inch x 36 inch sample of fabric so we can test it out. We want to make sure the adhesive bonds the materials properly and also make sure the adhesive doesn’t “bleed” through the fabric and create spots on the face of the baffle.
How Big can I get the 200 Series Acoustic Baffles?
The largest we can construct a seamless 200 Series Acoustic Baffle is up to 3 ft. x 6 ft. For Larger Acoustic Baffles, check out the 250 Series.
What are the Most Economical sizes for Acoustic Panels?
2 ft. x 4 ft. is the most common and economical size for an Acoustic Baffle.
What Edge Profiles are available for the Acoustic Baffles?
All Acoustic Baffles come with a Square edge.
How Many Acoustic Baffles do I need?
We use Proprietory Acoustic Software and information from you about your space to answer this question. We use three main criteria to determine how much acoustic material is needed.First, we need to know the Dimensions (Length, Width and Height) of the Room or Space that is being treated. Typically, the larger the space the more Acoustic Baffles are needed to drop the reverb time to a preferred level.
Second, we need to know the existing Wall, Ceiling and Floor construction materials. All Construction materials like Drywall, Concrete, Brick,Metal, Wood and Carpet have industry accepted inherent Acoustic Values that affect the acoustics of the space. We know these values and use them to help determine how much Acoustic Material is needed to get the desired results.
Third, we need to know How the Space is being used or the function of the space. The use of the space greatly affects the amount of absorption materials needed to achieve the desired results. Different spaces require different reverberation times. For example, A Recording Studio requires a much lower reverb time than an Office environment. A Restaurant requires a different reveb time than a Home Theater. We know the Industry accepted reverb times for a multitude of spaces and use these times when determining the amount of acoustic coverage.
