isoTRAX™ Soundproofing System Ceiling Package

The isoTrax™ Soundproofing System Ceiling Package is identical to the standard soundproofing system but includes nearly double the amount of elastic pads and hex screws to allow for the weight of heavier ceilings.

The isoTRAX™ Soundproofing System works by combining several soundproofing strategies into one easy to use package. Designed to be installed inside a wall or ceiling, the isoTRAX™ kit contains 5 sound isolation rails, which are used to decouple or separate the drywall from the studs in your assembly. The kit also includes 18 visco elastic sound deadening pads, which help eliminate vibrational noise and further reduce the sound transmitted.

A room is not fully soundproofed unless the issue of ceiling noise reduction is addressed as well. It’s for this reason that Soundproof Cow offers the isoTRAX™ Soundproofing System Ceiling Package for superior ceiling sound dampening and deadening. If you attempt to use the standard isoTRAX™ soundproofing system, you may find you do not have enough material to compensate for the weight of the ceiling, so we recommend this package, with almost twice the elastic pads and hex screws as the standard package, for ceiling use.

IsoTRAX™, as the name indicates, is a system implementing multiple soundproofing applications that combine for a complete sound-blocking solution, including five sound isolation rails that separate the drywall from the studs of the assembly. This is critical for preventing impact noise by stopping vibrations from affecting the soundproofing assembly.

The other main feature of the isoTRAX™ kit is the 35 Visco elastic pads with Visco elastic washers. These sound-deadening pads also block vibrational noise and contribute to the overall sound-blocking power of the assembly.

Basic rules

isoTRAX™ spaced no more than 24 inches apart vertically
isoTRAX™ Pad spaced no more than 48 inches apart horizontally
The bottom row of isoTRAX™ should not exceed 6 inches from the floor.
The top row of isoTRAX™ should not exceed 6 inches from the ceiling.
An isoTRAX™ Pad needs to be installed at each end of the isoTRAX™.
¼ gap at the top, bottom and adjacent wall locations…to be filled with acoustic sealant.
isoTRAX™ can be cut or trimmed with a pair of tin snips
