Soundproof Cow offers two types of steel acoustical mounts: friction-fit insulation supports for the committed, and hanger pins for those requiring more flexibility. Friction-fit installation mounting supports are used to keep soundproof insulation in place and are easily installed during the construction process before wall or ceiling finishing materials are applied. Because they’re friction fit, all you need to do is push the supports into place between your studs and floor joists – no tools required. For those who require the installation of their soundproofing materials to be temporary or flexible, hanger pins make installing two-inch thick sound absorption materials as easy as sticking – and re-sticking – a memo to a bulletin board. Just install the hanger pins to the external surface of your wood, steel or fiberglass surface with a screwdriver or soundproofing adhesive , push your soundproofing material on to the hanger pins so the tip punctures through the product, and then disarm the pin by capping on a washer and Protective Cap.

Quiet Batt® Insulation Supports make it easy to install soundproofing products from Soundproof Cow. Whether you have a small room or an entire retail space to soundproof, these soundproofing installation products provide a way for you to make sure all of your soundproofing panels fit and stay in place. Simply put the friction fit supports in place between floor joists or wall studs to keep your Quiet Batt® Soundproofing Insulation firmly in place.

Hanger Pins

Soundproof Cow Hanger Pins come in 1 ¼- and 2 ¼-inch sizes in cases of six, eight or 15. While not as permanent of a solution as Quiet Batt® Insulation Supports, they could not be simpler to use. Attach the hanger to the mounting surface and push your insulation onto the pin so it pierces the insulation. Then, complete the unit by adding the Captive Washer and Protective Cap, and you’re done.

These pins are made of galvanized steel, work with virtually all of our soundproofing products and are great if you need more flexibility in your soundproof insulation installation. Your Hanger Pin package order comes with everything you need to install soundproofing products with hanger pins, including the Captive Washers and Protective Caps. Wear gloves while installing insulation on hanger pins as the pins are quite sharp.
